Recently, a group of young individuals had the opportunity to participate in a workshop focused on building confidence in public speaking and expressing themselves through poetry. The workshop was led by mentor Hamza (@zuber_jr), who shared valuable tips and techniques for speaking with confidence in front of an audience.
Hamza began by discussing the importance of body language and the power of positive self-talk. He shared examples of how maintaining good posture, making eye contact, and using gestures can help to project confidence when speaking in front of others. He also emphasized the importance of practicing and being well-prepared for a presentation.
In addition to these tips, Hamza also discussed the importance of storytelling in public speaking. He encouraged the youth to think about their own experiences and use them to connect with their audience. By sharing personal anecdotes, the youth were able to make their presentations more relatable and engaging for their listeners.
After learning about the various techniques for public speaking, the youth were given the task of writing an expressive poem. Hamza stressed the importance of finding one's unique voice and encouraged the youth to be vulnerable and honest in their writing. He also shared examples of different poetry styles such as free verse and haikus, and how they can be used to convey different emotions and messages.
The youth were given time to write and share their poems with the group. The workshop ended with a final presentation where each youth shared their poem, and it was remarkable to see how they were able to express themselves confidently and authentically, it was truly inspiring to see how much they had grown in just a short period.
Overall, the workshop was a valuable experience for the youth. They were able to learn valuable techniques for public speaking and expressing themselves through poetry, and it was clear that Hamza's guidance and mentorship had a significant impact on their growth and development. It's always a great experience to see young people gaining confidence and finding their voice.
